Travel Information
Maiko is located 20km west of Sannomiya (Kobe city central). There are three airports near Kobe; (Kansai (International), Itami (Domestic) and Kobe (Domestic) . There are 4-5 direct flights/day from Europe, 2-3 flights/day from north America, and many flights from Asia to Kansai airport. If you will come from Tokyo or some other Japanese area, bullet train service "Shinkansen" is also convenient way.
Shuttle taxi service (MK Skygateshuttle) [Advanced reservation required]
There is shuttle taxi service between Kansai airport and Kobe, provided by MK TAXI. It will takes about 1.5 or 2 hours from airport to the Hotel. The advanced reservations are required by 3 day before departure. You can make a reservation yourself from following link. The fare is 3500 JPY, and pay it by cash (Japanese Yen) or credit card to taxi driver directly.
Bus service (Airport Limousine) + Train
From Kansai International Airport or Osaka (Itami) Airport, take an Airport Limousine bus to Sannomiya station (75min. 1900 JPY). Take JR train (local or rapid) west bound (toward Himeji, do not take s-rapid train!). Get off at Maiko station (20min. 290 JPY). Boat service (Airport Bay Shuttle) + Trains
If you prefer a boat trip, there is boat service crossing into Osaka bay between Kansai International Airport and Kobe Airport. Take an Bay Shuttle service (via connecting bus) to Kobe Airport (30min). Take "Port Liner" train to Sannomiya station (20min). The fare from Kansai airport to Sannomiya (boat and train) is 1800JPY. Bullet train service (Shinkansen)
From Shinkansen line, change to JR local or rapid train (east bound, toward Osaka) at Nishi-Akashi station, and get off at Maiko station.
